Arctocebus aureus

Range

The golden potto is found in Africa in Cameroon, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon.

Habitat

They live in forests and are good climbers (arboreal).

Body Traits

They are 1.5 feet long, including their tail and weigh about 3 pounds.

Habits

They live alone and active at night (nocturnal).

Diet

They eat insects mostly, but they also eat fruit.

Predators

Predators are snakes, birds of prey and wild cats.

Reproduction

Females are pregnant for about 4-5 months (gestation) giving birth to one baby.

Lifespan and/or Conservation Status

They can live for more than 20 years. They are listed as Lower Risk - near threatened on the CITES List (International List).
